We are so smitten with the idea of getting married at an antique carousel, or as we like to call it, the “Marry Go Round”. Especially when the carousel is on the beautiful Connecticut shore with stunning vistas of Long Island Sound.
The details from the photographer Joanna Fisher:
Hayley & Alex wanted to celebrate their love somewhere unique and fun, hoping to capture the essence of their relationship on the day they became husband and wife. At Lighthouse Point Carousel, a Connecticut historic landmark, they achieved just that. Built in 1916, the historic carousel is housed in the pavilion building, a large, open building right on the Long Island Sound. Guests spent the evening alternating between fun on the dance floor, and fun on the unique hand carved wooden horses – a piece of New England history! The bride wore a blush pink gown encrusted in rhinestones and dripping with ruffles – a perfect nod to her fun, artistic spirit. The flowers, designed by Bleached Butterfly, were the perfect complement to the day, showing off unique and unexpected blooms, playing off of the quirky spirit of the location.
